Abstract: Using traditional powder metallurgy method, the large particle size of graphite was 295μm and 495μm respectively, mass fraction of C in pantograph slider samples was raised to 8%. Influences of compacting pressure, sintering time and sintering temperature on such physical properties of pantograph slider as resistivity, abrasion performance and hardness were analyzed. Effects of graphite particle size and copper-coated graphite on its performance were also investigated. The results show that too high or too low sintering temperature is harmful to its abradability and antifriction. The larger the particle size of graphite is, the smaller the resistivity is, and the worse the abradability and antifriction are, and the greater hardness is. The copper-coated graphite can improve the sintering process of copper matrix pantograph slider material, decrease its porosity and resistivity, and increase its abradability, antifriction performance and hardness, but can not change its abrasion mechanism.
