Abstract: The rapid quenching and large undercooling phenomena and device working principle in the rapid solidification process are analyzed, and the working characteristics are presented in detail. The results show that these multistage device are ideal for making amorphous, quasicrystalline, microcrystalline and fine metallic powders.
Key words: rapid quenching large undercooling multistage rapid salidification powder-making
